This 2-pack of PocketWizard Plus Ve transceivers includes a pair of wireless radios for remotely triggering flashes or cameras. Two radios are required for remote camera shooting or any wireless flash setup that is triggered from a camera.
A fresh, sleek take on renowned reliability, the Plus Ve is PocketWizard's smallest transceiver, yet it still manages to include the rich feature-set and dependability that makes it a mainstay for professional lighting and remote triggering jobs. This auto-sensing transceiver uses the E Release firmware protocol, making it solely compatible with E Release-updated transceivers, remotes, and meters.
32 + 80 Channels and Hex-Zone Triggering
Suitable for photographers working in busy environments, like sports arenas, wedding halls, or busy studios, the Plus Ve has 32 selectable flash channels that all support Hex-Zone triggering. This six-zone configuration (A-F) lets you switch between multi-light configurations without leaving your shooting position.
For remote camera triggering, 80 long-range channels can be used along with five separate zones (A-E) for working with multi-camera remote setups.
When set to the TxRx setting, auto-sensing transceiver technology automatically and intelligently switches between transmitter and receiver modes as needed.
When used as a camera remote, two-stage triggering is possible to pre-trigger or wake the remote camera by half-pressing the E Zone button. This function requires a Plus Ve, Plus IIIe, or Plus IVe along with ACC Cables.
Auto-Relay mode can be used to trigger a remote camera in sync with remote flashes using just three Plus Ve radios—one to trigger, one connected to the remote camera, and one connected to the flash setup—and the auto-sensing technology relays the received signal from the camera to transmit the signal to the flash.
Flash trigger range is rated to approx. 1000'; camera trigger range is rated to approx. 3000'. A dedicated Long Range (LR) mode can also be used to effectively double this range in any environment, with potential triggering ranges reaching into the miles under ideal conditions.
Supports sequential triggering at up to 14.5 fps with a top sync speed of 1/250 sec for focal plane shutter or 1/500 sec for leaf shutters.
E Release Compatible
The Plus Ve is specifically compatible with PocketWizard devices using the E Release firmware protocol, including the Plus IIIe, Plus IVe, Power MC2, FlexTT5, and FlexTT6 radios that have been upgraded; the FUSION TLC Raven; and select Sekonic light meters that have been upgraded to E Release firmware. This transceiver is not compatible with legacy PocketWizard channels and it cannot be downgraded to function on those channels.
Simple User-Interface, Sleek and Minimal Design
PocketWizard's smallest transceiver yet, the Plus Ve has a streamlined design without a protruding antenna. The total height is 3.5" and the foot can be removed, revealing a 1/4"-20 mount, for an even smaller profile. In traditional PocketWizard design, the user-interface is also intuitive and straightforward for immediate use.
Compact and lightweight design — 3.5 x 2 x 0.7" and weighs just 2.5 oz with the battery installed.
Foot connects directly to a camera synced triggering without a cable; the foot can be removed for a sleeker design, especially when used with strobes.
1/8" sync port for cabled connections; compatible with a wide variety of sync cables and ACC camera cables.
Simple interface is navigable via the 0.7" color OLED screen and a series of soft, physical buttons to adjust the settings.
Removable lithium-ion battery can be charged inside the Plus Ve via the USB-C port; this 800 mAh battery lasts approximately 35 hours and requires 2.5 hours to charge.

PocketWizard Plus Ve Reviews
Horrible Transceivers

I purchased the new PocketWizard Photo Accessories VE Transceivers hoping they would improve my workflow during the 2026 Big 12 Baseball Tournament.
Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing.
The biggest issue is reliability. Turning these units on is frustrating — I constantly have to press the power button multiple times just to get them operational. In fast-paced sports environments, especially during baseball, there’s no time to fight with equipment when crucial moments are happening in real time.
I was barely able to make them work during track & field, but during baseball they simply were not dependable when I needed them most.
As a professional sports photographer, reliability is EVERYTHING. If gear fails during key moments, it becomes useless no matter how advanced the technology claims to be.
My honest rating: F
I will not be purchasing the new PocketWizard VE Transceivers again, and based on my experience, I cannot recommend them to photographers covering live sports or high-pressure events.
Excellent albeit long awaited replacement for IIIe

Alibi alert: I use these for triggering remote (Nikon) cameras from (Nikon) cameras with Fusion TLC transmitters - I cannot speak to how they work with remote flashes or other camera brands. Configured and pre-tested the units, and aside from the usual difficulty in finding documentation (https://pocketwizard.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Plus-Ve-Quick-Guide.pdf) all was pretty straight forward. Only wrinkle was that the Plus Ve's would not pair with the Fusion TLC transmitters when set to Camera LR mode - when controlling the remote camera from a Fusion TLC you have to use Camera Rx mode on the receiving Plus Ve's. This would seem only to be an issue if you need the Auto Relay functionality (used to trigger 'remoter' flashes/cameras in sync with a remote camera, one channel higher than the original broadcast) which may be disabled in Rx mode (documentation is ambiguous). After shooting a match with them, I have the following observations:
>Pluses: Most importantly, units functioned flawlessly at around 50 meters - initial delay for a burst of shots was in the 3-5 hundredth (.03 to .05) of a second range (at least according to Nikon's satellite synched clocks), and overrun was generally 10 or fewer frames per burst; using Raven TLCs as transmitters, remote cameras were able to fire at 20fps; unit is smaller than the IIIe - so hopefully less likely to get hit by a wayward shot or foot; the display (color OLED) is a huge improvement and is much more readable than the Plus IIIe, which helps in setting up the remotes in bright sunlight; replaceable/easily detachable hot shoe connection seems more robust than the one on the IIIe - and even easier to replace (no tools required); the unit looks like it should be more weather resistant than the IIIe; battery life appears to be good - after 4 hours of use and thousands of actuations the power meter had barely budged from full (one at 90%, one at 87%); and they use the same camera connection cables as the IIIe.
>Noted idiosyncrasies: powering the unit on requires a double touch of the Mode button (short than long); units will charge when powered off, but require a double tap of the mode button to see charging percentage; according to the documentation, the units will not trickle charge if left attached to the charger once fully charged; units are shipped with about a 50% charge - allow time before first use to fully charge; you need to be aware that there are separate 'modes' for remote flash and remote cameras (read the hard to find documentation).
>Minuses: as usual - documentation, none included with the units excepts a QR code (which does not lead directly to the proper manual), and what I could find was pretty rudimentary. Detailed charging instructions would be nice, as well as non-conflicting information about remote camera Lr and Rx modes, especially as they relate to Auto Relay mode (do I need to hold down the D Zone when powering up to disable?) Overall - highly recommended!

Will these be compatible with the Pocket Wizard Pl
Will these be compatible with the Pocket Wizard PlusXe transmitters? Also, do these allow Relay mode and Repeater Mode?
Asked by: Noah
The Plus Ve is compatible with any PocketWizard that has been upgraded to the E Release, using the same frequency. Be sure you are using the most current firmware with your other radios. The Plus Ve has Auto Relay. It does not have Repeater mode but you can use a Plus IIIe as the repeater with Plus Ve radios as the transmitting and receiving radios.

What cable will be necessary to connect to remote Nikon digital cameras? Will the receiver keep the camera awake? PTMM cord?
Asked by: Dale
The PocketWizard Plus Ve Transceiver (2-Pack) has the same 3.5mm port as the previous models. If your Nikon camera has a 10-pin remote connection, you will need this cable: PocketWizard N10-ACC-1 Remote Camera Cable with PTMM Pre-Trigger Adapter Kit (1'), BH # PON10ACC1K (https://bhpho.to/3MAmwRk). And for the DC-2 port, you will need this cable: PocketWizard N-MCDC2-ACC-1 Remote Camera Cable with PTMM Pre-Trigger Adapter Kit (1'), BH # PONMCDC2ACCK (https://bhpho.to/4qwaFlt).

Will these new pocket wizards work with Sony alpha models
Asked by: Walter
Yes, they can be used in a Sony hot shoe to trigger a remote flash in manual power, up to X-sync. They can also be used to trigger a remote Sony camera, as long as you have the correct remote camera cable.
Note: there are a couple Sony models that do not have an external remote port. They cannot be triggered by PocketWizard radios though you can trigger a remote flash from the hot shoe.

No, the Plus Ve only uses the E Release firmware protocol. It will work with any PocketWizard that can be upgraded to the E Release, using the same firmware. The Plus II radios are Legacy only and cannot be upgraded.
The PlusXe and PlusX can be used with your Plus II.
