Marshall Electronics CV508 Overview

The CV508 Micro HDMI/3G-SDI POV Camera from Marshall Electronics is designed with professionals in mind, and it delivers crisp video to fit the individual needs of productions large and small. The camera is built around a next-generation Sony 1/2.8" 2.2MP CMOS sensor capable of capturing up to 1080p60 video in low-light situations with rich color accuracy via its HDMI or 3G-SDI outputs. The CV508 features an interchangeable M12 mount, and a 4mm prime lens with an 85° horizontal angle of view is included.

The camera settings can be adjusted using the optional Marshall CV-RCP-V2 controller, camera control software, or a third-party system using the standard VISCA serial protocol via RS-485. Other features include an adjustable color temperature, backlight compensation, image mirror/flip, defog, and a removable IR sensor allowing the camera to work in day/night mode. The camera includes a breakout cable with an OSD joystick, RS-485, 3.5mm stereo audio, and power connectors.

Sony 1/2.8" Image Sensor
The next-generation Sony sensors provide clear HD images with rich accurate 10-bit (4:2:2) color, even in low-light (0.01 lux), and ability to switch to night mode (0.005 lux) where IR wavelengths can be captured in complete darkness.
Interchangeable M12 Lenses
Marshall CV508 cameras come with a high-quality 4mm (85° horizontal angle of view) prime lens, which ensures focus from near contact to infinity. Marshall offers a wide selection of high-quality M12 prime and varifocal lenses to meet the individual needs of the production, project, or application.

The durable CV508 body is chiseled from one block of aluminum alloy with rear-panel connector protection. The CV508 operates with exceptional low-light sensitivity, ensuring a clear picture in challenging lighting conditions with refined remote adjust and match capability.

What is the difference between the CV506 and the CV508? And, are they they same size and shape?

The Marshall Electronics CV508 Micro HDMI/3G-SDI POV Camera does have the same shape and size of the Marshall Electronics CV506 Mini HD Camera (3G/HD-SDI, HDMI) but features updated internals and an updated sensor as well as an IR night mode.
