Can these be set to automatically power on when a signal is detected?
No, the volume control on the Audioengine A1 Bluetooth Speaker System with DS1 Desktop Stands Kit (Gray, Pair) also doubles as the on/off switch. As a result, auto-bootup functions are not possible, since the system only turns off when you set the volume to 0.
