Did not work to extend computer display cable

Bought this to extend the cable length for my desktop display monitor. My current cable plugs into the computer via USB-Type C so I figured this would work and extend my cable length so I can have a better cable management under the desk. This didnt do anything when connected and it would not send the display signal.
