The Nokton 35mm f/0.9 Lens from Voigtlander is a fast ultra-large aperture lens perfect for portraits, street photography, or any situation that calls for total control of your depth of field. Its bright f/0.9 aperture-the widest among Voigtlander's X-mount series-allows for exceptional low-light performance. This all-metal manual focus lens delivers excellent photo quality and quick focusing while maintaining a compact design with an overall length of approximately 2.6". To help achieve this, Voigtlander incorporates an in-house-produced ground aspherical element on the first surface of the lens. Additionally, the lens's 12-blade diaphragm forms beautiful bokeh by naturally rendering out-of-focus areas rounder and less polygonal. While optimized for FUJIFILM APS-C image sensors, it has a full-frame equivalency of 53mm.

Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f/0.9 Reviews
Manual Focus Monster!
I’ve been searching for a more characterful lens for my X-E5 and this Voigtlander has put a swift end to my search! While not the most lightweight lens in the X-Mount ecosystem, it’s still relatively compact and works well even on a smaller body (although I do recommend an added grip). The extra bit of weight is absolutely worth the performance this lens offers. The bokeh is beautifully rendered but what’s really impressed me the most is the focus fall off and edge sharpness even at wider apertures. Stopped down to F2 for example (a testament to just how fast this lens is), you have incredible detail retrieval while still maintaining a smooth background. For street photography, the massive aperture range gives you tons of creative control and the low light performance really allows you to get a “look” to your photos that I’m not sure is achievable with many (any?) other APS-C lenses. Wide open at F0.9, the focal plane is razor thin so you’ll have to dial in your technique to extract the most from this lens but when you do, it’s incredibly rewarding. I find the default focus check settings (on X-E5) paired with focus peaking set to low/white allows you to nail focus relatively easily in most settings. I don’t write many reviews unless something has truly impressed me enough to wholeheartedly recommend it and so if you’ve read this far, I would highly encourage you to at least give this lens a shot.
Stunning lens
This lens produces some of the most creative and beautiful photos I’ve seen while using the Fuji X-T5. Wide open at f0.9 is still sharp and it gives such a dreamy bokeh that’s pleasant to the eye. I can’t even compare this lense to something else, it’s in a different league.
