Neewer Q4 Reviews

Horrible overheat feature

The flash unit is very light and works well and it has very useful features (HSS). However, it has one fatal flaw. It has an overheat protection feature that is baked in. The worst thing is, it triggers not by how hot the unit gets but after a certain number of flashes! After about 75 flashes at full power one is supposed to stop shooting and wait for five minutes for the unit to cool down. To override you have to turn it off and back on again. Who knows if the unit is actually getting too hot, but even if it is I've never seen a head built that was designed to stop working periodically when using it normally. I bought mine directly from the manufacturer and after discovering this they wouldn't even do a refund. Stay away. Absolute junk.

Great strobes, good power, great price!

Of all of the strobes I have used, I feel that Neewer has created something truly outstanding at a reasonable price. I like that the Q4 is a smaller size and has a convenient handle which I use all the time as well as the removable foot. I don't really like the reflector the Q4 comes with and have replaced all of them (I have 4) but these are inexpensive.

How to use these strobes with Lumix cameras?
Asked by: mark
The Neewer Q4 TTL Flash Strobe does not offer a dedicated trigger for Lumix cameras. However, it does have both a radio/RF receiver and an optical receiver built into the unit, meaning this strobe can be triggered by other flashes. You could also manually trigger it with the PocketWizard PlusX 2 Pack on Lumix cameras as long as the camera has a functioning hot shoe.

Asked by: Buz
No, the Neewer Q4 TTL Flash Strobe is not compatible for use with Godox-branded wireless transmitters. You would have to purchase the Neewer QPRO TTL Wireless Triggers designed for use with the above light fixtures. The available options for Canon, Nikon, and Sony cameras are listed on the link included below. https://bhpho.to/3NpAHGi

How to use Neewer Q4 TTL Flash Strobes with Olympus OM-D System camera? Does Neewer has this trigger in product line? Thanks
Asked by: Iurii
Currently Neewer does not make a trigger system that is compatible with the Olympus OM-D system. If you are willing to operate the Neewer Q4 TTL Flash Strobe in "Manual" mode, you can use the Canon or Nikon versions of the trigger, and the Neewer Q4 TTL Flash Strobe will burst in sync with your Olympus camera, but you will lose TTL functionality and communication between the trigger and the camera.
