Magewell Ultra Encode SDI Overview

Stream high-resolution video from your SDI camera using this Ultra Encode SDI Universal Encoder from Magewell. This compact encoder allows you to input resolutions up to 2K via the 3G-SDI port, encode to H.264/H.265 codecs, then stream via Wi-Fi or Ethernet to a variety of IP destinations such as Facebook Live, Twitch, and YouTube.

The encoder features analog input and output as well as the option to add USB modems for 4G/5G streaming from anywhere around the globe. It supports multiple streaming protocols, including RTSP, RTMP, SRT, NDI|HX2, and RTP, and it supports simultaneous dual streams from SD to 2K for main and sub streams. It also supports captions, timecode, and it can be remotely controlled via a web browser. The unit can be mounted using the included T-bracket with a 1/4"-20 thread or with its two M3 threads.

Pay the extra for POE

This is a solid product. But my suggestion is to pay the extra and get the Plus version for the POE.

We had been using another vendor's solution that was cheaper, but the old you get what you pay for is true in this case. Constant drop outs, incompatability, etc. made us move all of our NDI to Magewell and everything just works now. The UI may not be fancy, but it does everything you want to do. TCP based point to point and UDP based broadcast work great and are solid connections.
