Hassle Not Worth The High Price

First, I would like to make it clear that I am a dedicated user and owner of tens of thousands of dollars worth of Digital Watchdog, surveillance equipment and think very highly of the product and the company. I have two complaints with this specific product. The instructions for operating some new twists, especially the zoom, which is different than all of our previous Digital w prettyWatchdog equipment are almost nonexistent and even downloading a 35 page manual does not give the buyer concise instructions on how to operate and control the zoom capability. The mounting arm does not have adequate range of motion and smooth action to achieve a good positioning. With multiple large commercial buildings that are all outfitted with this company’s equipment we have more than adequate experience over the decades of installing this equipment and this is just not a good design for such an advanced camera that has so much potential. When we spend money as a customer, we don’t expect to assume the hassle of jumping through hoops to find straightforward ways to operate that equipment or to install it. We have dedicated full-time people for this purpose because quite frankly we had so many bad experiences with licensed installation companies that did not do first class work, and the product of the security cameras is much too critical for us not to have first class. The optics of this camera are great and the potential of this camera is equally great. Perhaps the solution to this is to have the people who design and market products actually use the products in the field for the purposes that they are purchased..
