Tilta TA-T53-FCC-B Overview

Mount accessories and add mounting options to your RED KOMODO-X cinema camera with the black Full Camera Cage from Tilta. The modular cage is made up of different components that can be added and removed as needed, including left/right side panels, a bottom plate, a top/front plate, and a top/rear plate that secure directly onto the camera. The components provide a shoe mount, NATO rails, two ARRI-style rosettes, 1/4"-20 threads, and 3/8"-16 anti-twist threads.

A dovetail plate is included to mount the camera onto an optional baseplate, and a lens adapter support is also included to add support for heavier lenses. Other optional Tilta accessories for this cage include a top handle, a 15mm or 19mm LWS baseplate, a battery plate, a monitor mount, and more.

Modular Design for Expanding Ecosystem
The camera cage includes five parts: Front Top Plate, Left Side Arm, Right Side Arm, Bottom Plate, and Rear Top Plate. Each part is detachable and can be used independently.
Easy Mounting and Disassembly
The camera cage comes with one M4 Allen wrench and one flathead screwdriver to accommodate on-the-go assembly.
Clamp-Based Lens Adapter Support
The lens adapter support provides robust security for various-sized lenses, and it reduces safety concerns for long lenses.
Multiple Compatibility Options
The cage is compatible with numerous accessories, including gear with 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 screws, a shoe adapter, or NATO clamps. Optional Tilta gear includes a 15mm LWS baseplate, I/O module, foldable top handle, V-mount battery plate, and more.

You cannot beat the price, but the design choice has very goods and bads. 1: firmly connected at the bottom, side and top, interconnected to ensure it stays firm in place 2: very good side ribs mounting points Bad: 1: not compatible with the pl support bracket (multiple other brands are) 2: Bottom plate are extremely hard to match on any attachments. We had to mount an extra large cheese plate in addition (only four threads matched) 3: top front plate is okay, offering the same mounting holes as the body, but doesn't add any vaoue, nor locating puns, simply 4 1/4 oddly placed with an additional one for cold shoe. 4: top back plate is unusable with any long handles other than the tilta one, being mainly m4, non centered, having a column in the middle and finally being lower than the front plate. 5: If you do decide to but their handle, it too has major drawbacks, some being lack of solidify at the front, being detached, and being only supported by 2 front 1/4 inch and 2 back m4. While that is technically enough, the mount blocks the other threads, so you can wonder why they did not use the full 4 1/4 inch and full 2 m4 and 2 1/4 inch at the back. We ended up mixing the RED original side ribs and front pl support, keeping the tilta baseplate, keeping the top front plate and cutting the back plate in half so that it would mount properly with the side ribs, while still being able to mount the top handle. Overall this reviewed more than the cage, but more so the whole cage being extremely hard to match with other brand accessories and it in itself having a medium build rest of ecosystem. We cannot return it, but starting over we'd go with full wooden camera, or mix of Wooden camera and kondor blue, or mix of all with the original Red pl support which is compatible with the previously named companies. If you desire a good cage and you plan on using the bottom arca plate and leave it that way then this cage is for you, but not for us. Over all, still 3 out of 5 since ut was still usable

Works really well, ton of little parts and thought went into this- however, WHY does the lens cuff not fit on ANYTHING? Does NOT fit on the Red supplied RF-EF adaptor, does not fit on any of my RF lenses, it is too small even if stretched out. This is a major issue and I would like some clarification. TBH it is unacceptable, the rest of the cage is good. Quality feels good and solid, good coating on the metal.

No, the Tilta Full Camera Cage for RED KOMODO-X (Black) blocks the pogo required to mount the RED DIGITAL CINEMA KOMODO Outrigger Handle.

Does the back of the cage get in the way of a vmount battery? Looks like it would without a breakout box on the back

No, the back of the Tilta Full Camera Cage for RED KOMODO-X (Black) will not interfere with the RED DIGITAL CINEMA KOMODO-X 6K Digital Cinema Camera's (Canon RF, Black), BH #REKOMXB, V-mount battery mount.

The RED Komodo is a different body size compared to the Komodo, so the Tilta Full Camera Cage for RED KOMODO-X will not work with the Komodo.

What's the bottom of the cage like? Wondering if I'd need an extra piece to work with the Tilta Arca Swiss 15mm LWS adapter.

The bottom Plate of this cage features 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threads which makes it easy to adapt to various support systems.
