The 72mm DIY Magnetic Screw-In Adapter Ring is an extra ring for your 72mm DIY Magnetic Screw-In Adapter Ring Kit from Kase. It allows you to convert conventional 72mm screw-in filters to the magnetic type. It's magnetic on one side and has a 72mm female thread on the other. Screw your filter onto this ring, and then magnetically mount this ring onto the male-threaded magnetic ring that's part of the optional DIY kit. (The male-threaded ring is the one that screws onto your camera lens and provides a magnetic mounting surface.)

Kase DIY Magnetic Screw-In Adapter Ring Reviews
Easy on and off
I found that this product works well and was a good purchase. I like to leave my lens hood attached all the time and found it difficult to reach my fingers inside to screw in accessory filters, and then of course remove them. You screw this ring to the back of your filter, and then with another magnetic ring attached to your camera lens it "clicks" in and out with ease. No trying to twist your filter trying to screw it in. I also bought the magnetic lens cap. I find there is enough magnetism so that it stays on snugly. I like the system.
A good solution for quick changes
I have been skeptical of magnetic rings for filters for a long time, as the early types didn't hold on to the filter well. These rings here are strong and sturdy and hold the filter even if you try to wiggle or push it off. I used these for solar filters during solar eclipses, when it is important to get the filter off and back on as quicklly as possible. For that, these are great, albeit a bit expensive.
