Using a zoom lens vs a prime lens is a matter of opinion. The 28-60mm zoom is a compact lightweight lens that keeps the A7CII camera small overall. The zoom range allows for a good variety of photos. However, it is an f4-5.6 lens so it would not be the best option for low light. A prime lens would be higher quality and better for low light but you would need to zoom with your feet which is not always possible.
