E-Image GH05 Tripod System Reviews

Good choice for wildlife

Single lock legs for fast deployment. The head is light but offers enough counterbalance to make using lenses easier. I'm 6 feet and it comes right up to eye level and in the forest you are always needing more height. It is a good bit lighter than the other IKAN tripod of the same design and 90% as good. Great option for taking into the field for locked off shots.

Great Tripod For Its Price

As a filmmaker who often works alone, I found this tripod to be really useful. The fact that it can be fully raised and collapsed from only 3 points makes it much easier for solo shoots. It comes with everything you need out the box including a pretty good carrying bag. For its price it is really a great value.

What are the counter balance weights limits?
Asked by: Will
This tripod has a load capacity between 6.6 to 17 pounds. It also has 3 steps for counter balance. While we do not know the exact amounts for those steps, they will work with the load capacity of the tripod.

How does a tripod like this compare with the Davis & Sanford ProVista Tripod which is more economical?
Asked by: Allen
i have not personally used the D&S, but i own the E-Image. perusing the D&S ProVista offerings on B&H, the only comparable model is half the price, but here's where this E-Image version edges it out: adjustable length handle; quick, one-touch leg adjustment (a single lock/unlock per leg instead of controls for each leg stage); removable feet (rubber treads pop off to reveal spikes for outdoor work). the D&S ProElite have these features, but are more expensive than this E-Image model. i own multiple heads for quick transition to dolly/jib etc. i don't quickly see the ability to buy just a ball-mount head for the ProVista. i have used this for years and love it. based on the leg adjustment alone, i'd say it's worth the extra money over the ProVista if you plan using it more than a couple of times.
