Plastic grommets an unwelcome departure

This is the third Clever strap I've bought and while the leather and finish seems to be up to the same high quality I've come to expect, this strap is using black plastic grommets to hold the strap together, unlike the photo on the B&H site and unlike the last Clever strap I purchased that used brass grommets, which I both trust more to hold up as well wearing nicely aesthetically. Long story short, strap good, fasteners, not so much.
