Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG DN OS Sports Overview

High-Level Performance & Reliability
A dynamic zoom designed for professionals, the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG DN OS Sports Lens excels at capturing sports, wildlife, and weddings. The large f/2.8 aperture allows impressive performance throughout the entire zoom range and provides reliable low-light performance. Dual HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) motors enable high-speed autofocus, helping you freeze action. Sigma's OS2 algorithm effectively stabilizes images, providing up to 7.5 stops of correction. Additionally, the superior weather resistance of Sigma's Sports line means you can take your 70-200mm f/2.8 out in the field with peace of mind.

Combined with the 14-24mm F2.8 DG DN Art and the 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art, these three zoom lenses for full-frame mirrorless cameras with a bright f/2.8 constant aperture cover a wide range of focal lengths.
Dual HLA Autofocus
Driven by dual HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) motors, quick and quiet autofocus is provided, greatly benefiting the quality of both photo and video content taken with this lens. Its floating focus configuration creates significantly less movement in each focus group, resulting in extremely responsive focusing performance.
OS2 Algorithm
Sigma's OS2 optical stabilization algorithm provides up to 7.5 stops of image stabilization making the lens more well-suited for handheld usage and giving users the luxury of shooting at slower shutter speeds while maintaining image sharpness.

Two OS modes are available. Mode 1 is for general shooting, while Mode 2 features Sigma's Intelligent OS algorithm and is ideal for panning shots and sports capturing.

Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG DN OS Sports Reviews

Fantastic images / not a lightweight lens

I purchased this lens about 10 months ago for use with railfan photography, taking photos of my kids' sports events and taking a few portraits of family and friends. It is exactly as advertised on the B and H website. Images are very sharp. The lens is fast. The only caution I would offer for potential buyers is to consider the size (almost 3lb). This lens is substantially larger and heavier than the Sony 70-200mm f/4 (1.85lb) lens I had been using previously. Before investing in this lens just be sure to ask yourself if this lens will truly allow you to do something that you can't do with the significantly smaller/lighter 70-200mm f/4 lens or a short telephoto prime like the Sony 85mm f/1.8.

Great purchase, everything went very smoothly

I bought the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 lens; everything arrived well-packaged, in perfect condition, and on time. I’m truly very happy with the purchase, and I feel that the trust I have in shopping at B&H surpasses any other option

will the Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS work with an OM-1 camera?
Asked by: Jim
The OM Systems OM-1 mirrorless camera uses the M43 mount and currently there are no adapters to adapt a Leica L mount lens to M43 cameras. However, you could buy the Canon mount version of the Sigma lens as seen here: https://bhpho.to/2PZ5lGn and then use an EF to M43 adapter such as this Metabones: https://bhpho.to/3XkOGko.

What is its transmission (T-stop)?
Asked by: Alex
The Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG DN OS Sports Lens was not measured for T-stops. An f-stop is a mathematical calculation, while T-stops are the actual measurement of the light that passes through the lens. So, there is no direct correlation to convert an f-stop to a T-stop.
