Designed for the iPad mini +, the PowerCage Mini from Accsoon is a mountable cage that offers enhanced performance and protection for your device. Built using aviation-grade aluminum and featuring 13 x 1/4"-20 and 4 x cold shoe mounts, you'll be able to mount the PowerCage Mini to tripods and other compatible devices, as well as attach accessories such as lights, mics, an Accsoon SeeMo or SeeMo Pro, and more. You'll also be able to power your iPad mini for longer while on set using an integrated Sony NP-F battery mount, which is located on the back. Or, if your shooting setup is stationary, your iPad mini can be powered using a USB-C power adapter. Thanks to an integrated kickstand, your PowerCage Mini can be propped up on flat surfaces for a more user friendly experience.

Accsoon PowerCage Mini Reviews
Difficult installation. Tiny screws. Cumbersome hood.
Installation is fiddly, as it requires inserting extremely tiny screws. If an iPad is dedicated entirely to this use and left in the cage permanently, this may not be a major issue. But if the iPad is to shared across uses, sometimes as a monitor, sometimes as an iPad, then the the removal and re-installation becomes a real problem. Those using their iPad as an iPad will not want this cage installed permanently. The size, weight, and hard edges make it uncomfortable to hold. After repeated installations, expect most will lose one or more of those tiny screws. Can only imagine the difficultly of sourcing screws of this exact size. The hood is also lacking. It requires a lengthy installation, as it is threaded into place with straps. Hoods are not necessary indoors or at night, which is why quick installation and removal is paramount. The hoods on better quality products attach magnetically, installing and removing in seconds. This does not. The cage and hood needs a complete redesign. 1. An iPad should slide into place quickly and lock with a latch, without Screws. 2. The hood needs to attach magnetically, quickly and easily, not with straps. This is the only iPad mini cage compatible with Accsoon's excellent SeeMo product line. The poor ease-of-use of this cage drags down the otherwise great SeeMo products.
Great Combo with RED Control Pro
Works great with the iPad Mini. Great to have an ultra-light weight monitor for RED cameras running RED Control Pro (allowing control of multiple camera on set). No need for a big extra battery, but of course you have a tiny bit of delay vs. SDI etc. Great touch screen controls thanks to RED Control.
