Pure Direct Mode
This mode is designed to virtually eliminate signal degradation by having music signals bypass the buffer amp, and tone / loudness / balance controls, taking the shortest route possible to your speakers.
Wireless Streaming
Use either the Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet connection to conveniently stream audio from popular online services, such as Spotify, Amazon Music, Pandora, TIDAL, SiriusXM, and more. You can also use Bluetooth to conveniently stream audio from mobile devices, such as a phone or tablet.
Hi-Res File Playback
Connect an optional storage device to the front panel USB-A port to directly play back digital files. An ultra-precise dedicated crystal clock is incorporated to improve the signal accuracy of the built-in USB DAC. Whether through USB or a network connection, you can play files at native DSD 11.2 MHZ or PCM 384 kHz.

Yamaha R-N600A Reviews

Terrific component for home audio with many options

I purchased this receiver based largely on reviews and it has not disappointed. I required a good quality amplifier/receiver for a home audio setup that did not include surround sound, and was not connected to video components. I simply wanted a versatile and quality receive to channel both digital and analog components for a large living space. I'm a classically-trained musician and am very demanding of the audio components I employ to listen to a variety of genres (classical piano, orchestral, and acoustical jazz). This receiver has not disappointed in the six months I've been using it. It has a variety of inputs, both digital and analog, and with built in AirPlay I can stream music directly from an iPhone, iPad or computer. Simple, two-channel sound (with the option of using a subwoofer if desired) is clean and accurate, especially when listening to digital sound sources, such as acoustical piano or guitar. Highly recommended.

BEST modem connected  RECIEVER

I was replacing an old Kyocera receiver from 1985. I wanted a Modem connected Receiver(not Bluetooth) for the better quality. I hooked it up to my old Dynaco(1970) and Kliptsch(1985) speakers, Tanburg cassette player and Denon CD player with B & O turntable. Everything worked great. I could get good FM reception without a rooftop antenna. The absolute best thing about it is the direct connection to the internet (no Wi-Fi) via cable modem. I connected to Chromecast through my phone to select Pandora and listen to my favorite music channels. I turn it on by remote and listen all day. I find the quality of this receiver to be much better than the older and more expensive ones I have. It controls are extensive for varied music sources.
