The MD 300 Dynamic Microphone with MH 80 Swivel Mic Holder from Microtech Gefell is a cardioid microphone optimized for intelligibility with accurate high frequencies and well-balanced, low-frequency transmission. It can be used as a close-talking microphone for announcers and broadcasters as well as for high-quality recordings of vocalists and instrumental soloists during live performances.
- The housing is equipped with an integrated internal thread, which allows for shockmounts or microphone mounts. The capsule is mounted elastically in the housing to attenuate solid-borne sounds and impulses.
- The sound transducer in the MD 300 runs according to the moving-coil principle. The microphone is connected by a standard 3-pin XLR-male plug and requires no power for operation. Because of the balanced low-impedance output, the MD 300 can be used for longer cable runs with negligible distortion.
- The frequency response has been optimized for short recording distances with a boost of approximately 2 dB between 2 and 8 kHz for high-frequency presence on speech and vocals. The change of the low-end frequency response caused by the proximity effect is well balanced, without a very strong overemphasis when the mic is placed close to the sound source.
Note:
This microphone is part of the B&H Virtual Mic Locker, an online tool to help our valued customers determine the sonic differences between popular microphones for podcasting and voice over work. Each microphone was recorded using a Grace Design M103 preamp into a Presonus Quantum 2626 interface.
