Can you screw both the screws into the bottom of Smallrig Cage 2999 (SmallRig Camera Cage for Sony a7S III) to avoid twisting?

No, the screw spacing on the Falcam F38 & F50 Dual-Screw Quick Release Plate is too small to attach both screws to the Smallrig Cage.

Will this work with smallrig cages? Are the screws far enough a part to be able to screw onto a cage?

Yes, the Falcam F38 & F50 Dual-Screw Quick Release Plate can be used with SmallRig cages, but you may need to remove the lip in front with the tool provided.
