Godox WEC Overview

Record 2-person vlogs or interviews with the Godox WEC 2-Person Wireless Microphone System using its two clip-on transmitters with built-in microphones and dual-channel receiver with 3.5mm TRS connector. Attach your transmitters to your talent's lapel and mount your receiver to the cold shoe mount of your camera with the integrated belt clip. Use the included 3.5mm TRS and 3.5mm TRS to TRRS audio cables to connect the receiver to your camera or mobile device of choice. Both the receiver and transmitters can communicate from up to 656' away via 2.4 GHz frequency.

LED indicators on the components allow you to monitor power and mode status. Onboard controls toggle between mono and stereo modes, control the ±6 dB of gain, activate noise cancellation, or pair the devices to one another. Internal rechargeable batteries power the components for up to 8 hours at a time and can be recharged using the included charging case or USB-C ports.

I recently purchased and then tested this set of microphones and overall, I'm quite impressed with their performance. The charging case functions well, providing convenient storage and reliable charging for the units. The microphones themselves deliver excellent audio quality, and everything operates as expected. One area that could be improved is the mounting system. The included clips are not the most secure, and I would have preferred a more reliable solution for attaching the mics, especially for dynamic shooting environments. However, the compact size of the microphones is a significant advantage, making them easy to transport and use in a variety of situations. Unfortunately, the included furry windscreens are a bit of a letdown. They tend to fall off easily and do not stay in place well, which can be frustrating during shoots. Additionally, the microphones will not fit back into the charging case with the windscreens attached, preventing me from simply gluing them on for a more permanent solution. One drawback I've encountered is the latency when using the mics in conjunction with another audio source, such as a shotgun microphone. This could pose challenges if you're looking for perfect synchronization in a multi-mic setup. However, when used independently, the system performs exceptionally well. Another positive aspect is the ability to purchase replacement transmitters and receivers at a reasonable price, which adds significant value to the system, especially for those who need to replace or expand their setup over time. In summary, this is a great microphone system for solo use, offering good sound quality, portability, and ease of use. While the mounting clips and windscreens could be improved, the overall package, especially with the option for affordable replacements, makes it a solid choice for a variety of applications.

This is pretty good for the price, battery life and signal between the mics and the receiver are both very good. The sound quality leaves something to be desired. With some good EQ settings though you can mitigate a lot of the sound quality issues.

The 2 x Godox WEC TX Clip-On Wireless Microphones transmit the audio signal wirelessly to the Godox WEC Receiver over 2.4 GHz transmission. The Receiver then sends audio to your iPhone 14 through 3.5mm TRS to TRRS Audio Cable included in the box.

It has not been officially released by Godox, but 3rd party tests have had other 2.4GHz Godox systems clock at roughly 50ms.
