Samsung Odyssey G55C Overview

Built to deliver a wide and immersive gaming experience, the Odyssey G55C 27" 1440p HDR 165 Hz Curved Gaming Monitor from Samsung features a 27" Vertical Alignment (VA) panel with a native QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440, a 16:9 aspect ratio, a 165 Hz refresh rate, and HDR10 with a typical luminance of 300 nits. The 165 Hz refresh rate means the display shows a new image 165 times per second for less delay between each individual frame and therefore less input lag, while AMD FreeSync eliminates stuttering and tearing by locking the monitor's refresh rate to that frame rate of the graphics card.

Samsung has also equipped this display with support for 16.7 million colors, a static contrast ratio of 2500:1, and a 1 ms (MPRT) response time. Using the 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles, it is possible to watch content from virtually any position. This display has one HDMI 2.0 output and one DisplayPort 1.2 output for connecting to your system. Audio can be output using a 3.5mm headphone jack and, for greater ease of use, this display tilts from -2 to 18° and may be mounted using its 75 x 75mm VESA threads.

For the price, the features it packs are hard to beat: ​1000R Curve: The curvature is super immersive. It wraps around your field of view perfectly, making games like open-world RPGs and racing titles feel much more engaging while keeping eye fatigue low. ​1440p Clarity: Stepping up from 1080p to QHD is a massive upgrade. Text is razor-sharp, textures look great, and you get plenty of desktop space for multitasking. ​Smooth Performance: The 165Hz refresh rate paired with AMD FreeSync makes fast-paced movement buttery smooth with zero screen tearing or stuttering. ​Deep Blacks & Contrast: Thanks to the VA panel (3000:1 contrast ratio), dark scenes in games and movies look deep and rich instead of washed out like on many IPS displays. ​If you’re looking for a high-refresh 1440p curved display that delivers top-tier performance without breaking the bank, this monitor is an absolute steal.
