Desview R7S III Overview

The R7SIII 7" Ultra-High Bright 1080p Touchscreen Monitor with 4K60 HDMI/3G-SDI I/O from Desview enables you to view your video capture using a sharp 7" IPS LCD with 1920 x 1080 resolution, 2800 cd/m² of brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 10-bit color, and touchscreen control. Features include a viewing angle of 178°, HDMI 2.0 and 3G-SDI input and output, LUT import via the USB-A port, a 3.5mm headphone output, and support for up to DCI 4K60 HDMI video input and output with embedded audio. There are numerous imaging tools built into the monitor, including vectorscope, waveform, and zebra, among many others.

The R7SIII is powered using the integrated V-mount battery plate, via USB-C, or via a separately available DC barrel adapter. The monitor also features an 8 VDC barrel output for powering your camera using the camera batteries using a separately available dummy battery or cable. Mount the R7SIII on your rig using the 1/4"-20 bottom or side thread and a support arm or the included tilting monitor mount.

Ultra-High Brightness
The R7SIII features a 2800 cd/m² ultra-high brightness LCD screen for clear visuals in darkness or direct sunlight.
High-Resolution Display
The upgraded display supports up to 4K60 input and loop output for accurately viewing HDR imagery with high frame rates.
Professional Interfaces
The monitor features HDMI and 3G-SDI inputs and outputs, 3.5mm headphone output, USB-C power, and both USB-A firmware and LUT import.
Dynamic Monitoring
The latest HDR PQ and HLG curves are supported for displaying rich colors and smooth transitions, and it allows you to switch between SDR and HDR views with a single click. It also features a film-grade color gamut with 100% DCI-P3 coverage, supporting true-to-life color with 10-bit color depth.
3D LUTs
The monitor includes built-in 3D LUTs for you to apply looks to your footage, and it also allows you to import your own custom 3D LUTs using the USB-A port.
Power Options
The V-mount battery plate allows you to power the monitor using a high-capacity V-mount battery, and it also supports USB-C and DC barrel power input, and it features a DC barrel output to also power your camera or other accessories.
Intelligent Touch Control
You can control settings on the monitor using the touchscreen, and it supports multi-finger zoom and touch sliders for adjustments.
Numerous Image-Assist Functions
The firmware includes a set of image assist functions such as waveform, vectorscope, audio meters, HDR, aspect ratio, histogram, color temperature, peak focus, false color, distortion, zebra, freeze frame, and more.

so i was looking into some inexpensive monitors to replace my osee monitor which i had 4 of them 2 got killed bcause of a sdi power issue and 2 suffered from ink bleed those monitors lasted me 4yrs. so i decided to replace with the R7S3 monitor and so far its great. a few color temp quirks which i hope they can improve in a firmware update but overall image quality is nice. i like the vmount on the back if i decide to use it as a director monitor and can power via vmount battery. overall the product is great and the pulling it weights far over its price point

Placing a v-mount battery plate on the back of the monitor is so completely ABSURD! Who on planet earth would want to put a big heavy 14V battery on this. The weight would be ridiculous alone. Please go back to the drawing board and use your head.

The Desview R7SIII 7" Ultra-High Bright 1080p Touchscreen Monitor with 4K60 HDMI/3G-SDI I/O and Sony FX30 can both be powered at the same time with the SmallRig VB99 Mini V-Mount Battery (99Wh, Black) as long as you have the proper cables.

No, the Desview R7SIII 7" Ultra-High Bright 1080p Touchscreen Monitor with 4K60 HDMI/3G-SDI I/O is not powered by a 2-pin LEMO connector; it uses a barrel DC input (30 V) and a V-mount plate for battery power.

The Desview R7SIII 7" Ultra-High Bright 1080p Touchscreen Monitor with 4K60 HDMI/3G-SDI I/O covers 100% DCI-P3 coverage. However, Desview does not provide a calibration report with the display.

No, the Desview R7S III 7" High-Bright 1080p Touchscreen HDMI/3G-SDI Monitor with Dual L-Series Plate does not perform anamorphic de-squeezing at all.

Does this monitor cross convert between HDMI & SDI? If so, can it take a 4K HDMI input and downconvert to HD on the SDI output?

The Desview R7S III 7" High-Bright 1080p Touchscreen HDMI/3G-SDI Monitor with Dual L-Series Plate does not have the ability to scale. It also only has a loop out for the source and cannot covert HDMI to SDI or SDI to HDMI.
