Celestron Nature DX 10x42 Reviews

Excellent, Bright Glass for the Price

As a longtime photographer I'm familiar with good optics, but these are my first serious binoculars. I don't have enough experience to compare these to other mid- to high-end models, but I can absolutely say that the view through these Celestrons absolutely blew away. The image brightness and clarity feel like jumping from a cheap camera kit lens to a high-end f/2.8 prime. The sharpness is impressive, resolving fine textures like bird feathers with minimal color fringing around high-contrast edges. I used them for birding in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and they were consistently vivid, easy to steady, and easy to focus. The focus wheel has a smooth, dampened resistance that feels like a quality manual camera lens that's easy to dial in. They're definitely heavier than cheaper binoculars, but high end glass usually is. The included neck strap feels a little cheap and flimsy, but it works fine, and the rugged, rubber-armored build of the binoculars themselves feels incredibly solid. If you appreciate great visual quality but don’t want to spend a fortune, these offer fantastic, sharp value.

Great binoculars for the money

These are just what I was looking for. Backyard bird-watching and wildlife travel. Excellent quality without breaking the bank.
