Organize and store your data with the AS5404T NAS Enclosure from Asustor. Featuring four bays for 2.5 or 3.5" drives and four m.2 drive slots, the AS5404T supports raids 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10 with up to 576 MB/s read and write speeds. Hot-swappable drive bays make it easy to replace any defective drives with minimal downtime. Three USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports allow you to add expansion for more drives or transfer data to external drives with data transfer rates of up to 10 Gb/s. A pair of 2.5 GbE ports offer increased speeds over the standard Gigabit ethernet ports and can provide even more speed by combining the two 2.5 GbE ports to a single channel exceeding 2.5 Gb/s. The AS5404T is equipped with an HDMI 2.0b port, allowing you to view 4K video from your NAS via plex or another third-party video player. Ensure smooth quality and operation with a 2.0 GHz Intel Celeron quad-core CPU and 4GB of memory and increase the performance even further by upgrading the RAM to 16GB.

Asustor Nimbustor External HDD/SSD Reviews
Forget tech support if you need it
I had some issues with setup related to a mystery password that was assigned (still not resolved) and tried to contact support. You can't log in without the mystery passport and their support phone goes to VM, and calls are never returned. About to return this useless brick
Great option for storing photos.
Easy to set up and provides lots of space, redundancy, synching and backup for photographs and other files. If you do RAID 1 you'll use half your hard drive space mirroring your files (2 12 TB drives will give you about 10/11 TB of user storage. I have a 4T external drive attached to it. You can also add a 4-drive expansion bay. Or you might consider getting the AS5404T with 4 bays to start. It also has space for 4 SSDs. I use 2 500 BG SSDs for cache and 2 2T for fast SSD drives. There are videos available of the Asustor website and YouTube useful for setup. Also, found Copilot to be helpful. It could see my setup, answer questions and make suggestions. You can also set it up with some limited server capabilities so you can access your files remotely.
