Canon RF 200-800mm f/6.3-9 IS USM Reviews

A decent bridge

fair to say this lens isn't on par with a 15k lens, but it does go a long way. I'm an amateur and can't provide the reader any technical data but I can say it gets a decent image. The only drawback I see is the f stop. You are going to see stops at 9 or more and if it's an overcast day it might affect the photos you take. especially when using a filter. Also fair to say it must have a great stabilization system because even at F9 with 1250/1600 shutter speed it defeats camara shake quite well even at 800mm. I like the lens and I'm not sending it back.

Reach out to capture wildlife

I recently got into bird photography and needed to extend my reach to get more full frame images and avoid cropping the image. Not yet having a high megapixel camera it did not take much cropping to end up with a greatly reduced pixel image. I was using my EOS 100-400 f4.5-5.6 IS II lens and a 1.4x extender and 2x extender but putting extenders on and off was a problem. The EOS 200-800mm lens offered a much more efficient solution, provides sharp resolution and is hand hold able for a short time. Overall the Canon EOS 200-800mm lens has given me the reach I need to capture my bird images.

The Canon RF 200-800mm f/6.3-9 IS USM Lens (Canon RF) is a very good lens. The best camera in low light with that lens would be the Canon R6 II (https://bhpho.to/3U9ENUp).
