Nice strap, but split rings will shred your brass Leica lugs

I like this strap, the quality of the cord and length is great, its comfortable to wear. However, the split rings are sharp, low quality, and within weeks were causing excessive wear on the lugs on my Leica M2, which was in near mint condition at the time of my putting this strap on. I reached out to A&A before using the strap as I was worried this exact thing would happen, who told me these rings are brass, not steel like on their newer models. I have no way to verify if that is true, but in any case the lugs on my M2 were getting beat up in short order. I bought some replacement brass split rings without sharp edges from Camera Film Photo and installed those today. They are completely rounded and the ends of the split ring are tapered in so they don't catch on the camera lugs, unlike the A&A strap, much better. Overall it's a big disappointment for something this expensive and to cause rapid wear on an expensive vintage camera.

Is the length of the strap adjustable at all?
The strap is so flexible that it's easy to tie it into a loop or add simple knots to shorten the length or to use strictly as a wrist strap. It's really a fabulous strap -- I highly recommend!
