Canon PZ-E2 Overview

The PZ-E2 Power Zoom Adapter from Canon enables complex zoom control for the RF 24-105mm f/2.8 L IS USM Z lens. Zoom speed of the DC motor can be adjusted via a dial in a stepless manner to allow rapid and low-speed zooming. The PZ-E2 draws power from the camera through contacts on the lens.

It works but the ergonomics are bad

There is so much to love about this little device. The powering through the lens is great in having a small profile, but the ergonomics of the finger placement is awful. You almost have to use your right thumb to operate and it makes things awkward. This would have been much better if it was a rocker style design at the top.

The Canon PZ-E2 Power Zoom Adapter does not offer camera control support. The Canon PZ-E2 Power Zoom Adapter is only a servo zoom motor with a zoom rocker, a switch to swap between auto/manual zoom control, and a speed dial for adjusting the motor speed.

Will a Manfrotto lanc that works with an xf605 also work if plugged into the lanc port of a c70 to control this zoom motor?

As an fyi, I tried a PZ-E2B on my 24-105 lens with the Manfrotto LANC controller plugged into my c70 LANC port and it works like a charm. So I didn't bother getting a LANC controller with a 20-pin cable.
