Nice and snug over the lens hood ( some may find it too snug for quickly slipping onto the lens, but there's no chance it will fall off). Much easier to use than the lens cap. Been using for 2 years and still works like new.

ok, but difficult to use quickly

I'm using it on an Olympus 100-400 zoom/telephoto. As others noted, not that easy to use over the lens hood. I have arthritis in my hands so sometimes it is difficult for me to reach inside the hood to get the standard lens cap, so I was hoping this would be easier. Unfortunately this is just OK as it is a bit too snug. Good for travel in a backpack though.

question

I would be using this hat to cover a Nikon 80-200 2.8D lens with lens shade attached to a 77 mm Tiffen neutral density filter. Is this the right one? Or,can I use the smaller one?
Asked by: Anonymous
The lens shade will give a bit of additional size to the diameter of the 80-200mm lens, so I would advise going with the medium sized Op/Tech USA Hood Hat.

I just purchased the nikon 85mm 1.4 lens and was looking for a cap or cover that will fit the HB-55 lens hood for when I am out shooting since it is tricky to use the included lens cap with the hood installed in the field?

The best way to determine the fit is to measure the outside diameter of your hood. The Hood Hats are a tapered design to fit a range of sizes. Small: 3"–3.5" Ø x 2" L (7.6cm-8.9cm x 5.1cm) Medium: 3.5"–4" Ø x 2" L (8.9cm–10.2cm x 5.1cm)

Will this stretch to fit a Canon 100-500 lens?
Asked by: Jerry
The OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Medium should fit directly on a Canon 100-500mm lens, but I recommend the OP/TECH USA Hood Hat, Large (https://bhpho.to/3T0XKtT) instead.

Would this fit over a Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art Lens, or should I use a medium?
Asked by: Marcus
Based on the tech specs for this lens, Dimensions (ø x L) 3.46 x 4.84" / 87.8 x 122.9 mm, the Small may be a better choice; the Medium will fit but may be slightly loose. Hood Hat Small: 3"–3.5" Ø x 2" L (7.6cm-8.9cm x 5.1cm) Hood Hat Medium: 3.5"–4" Ø x 2" L (8.9cm–10.2cm x 5.1cm)

question

will this size fit a nikon 14/24 lens ?
Asked by: Anonymous
You can check the compatibility from OP/TECH website's Product Finder. It fits my Tamron 15-30/2.8 which is very close in size to Nikon 12-24/2.8, but very tight and difficult to put it on even with two hands.
