The DR-EDID2 Emulator from FSR is a unique, self-powered, bidirectional device that can be integrated at either end of any HDMI system as an EDID manager/learner. Engineered to manipulate the EDID information provided to a connected HDMI source or any device earlier in the HDMI chain, the DR-EDID2 can now learn and store up to three EDID tables from any display, and the hot-pluggable device supports resolutions up to UHD 4K60 with HDCP 1.4/2.2 compatibility.
EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) includes essential details about the display's capabilities, such as supported audio and video formats and available features. The DR-EDID2 enables installers to either substitute one of the five preset EDID files or to learn, store, and recall up to three EDID files from any display device through a quick and straightforward process in the field. This feature makes the DR-EDID2 an invaluable tool for troubleshooting system issues like unstable images or complete image loss due to excessive cable length. When permanently installed, the DR-EDID2 forces the source to limit its output resolution, reducing the required bandwidth of the cabling infrastructure and thus ensuring reliable operation.
