The Lynx Studio Technology Aurora(n) LYN-AN16D16A is preconfigured with 16 analog ins and 16 analog outs on DB-25 connectors. In addition, it features preinstalled LM-DIG and DB-ADAT modules providing 16 channels of digital I/O on AES/EBU and ADAT formats.
The Aurora(n) LYN-AN16D16A is a mastering-grade 16-in / 16-out AD/DA converter, which supports up to 24-bit / 192 kHz conversion. Design and technology borrowed from the development of Hilo converters is used to significantly improve specifications and transparency over previous models, while attaining stunning Hilo-like performance. Ideal for audio engineers and producers who demand the most pristine recordings and mixes, the Aurora(n) delivers coloration- and degradation-free signal for mission-critical audio applications in studios, mastering facilities, remote recordings, and broadcast and live performance facilities.
The unit features an onboard microSD player/recorder capable of up to 32 channels of direct recording and playback, ideal when working in the field. Two headphone outputs with independent volume control let you monitor your sound with audiophile-grade precision, while a bright TFT LCD display gives you immediate access to all levels and functions, right from the front panel.
- The included LM-DIG module provides 16 channels in and 16 channels out of 24-bit AES/EBU, with bit-perfect transmission at sample rates of up to 192 kHz.
- AES/EBU is a world standard for digital interfacing, and the addition of the LM-DIG to the Aurora(n) means that studios and engineers can quickly and easily integrate its superior audio quality and precise conversion/routing tools with almost any professional-quality recording system, control surface, or other tools that use the AES/EBU standard.
- In addition, this version of the Aurora(n) features the DB-ADAT add on module for the LM-DIG, providing an additional 16 channels of digital I/O via ADAT and S/PDIF connectivity.
- The analog signal path for each channel has been designed as a self-contained and shielded circuit. Each channel pair has its own dedicated conversion device. This offers many sonic advantages like significantly reducing crosstalk and distortion, while increasing dynamic range and performance.
- Proprietary, SynchroLock 2 high-performance sample-clock technology provides a whopping 300,000:1 reduction in jitter, 5-second lock time, and absolute accuracy.
- Wordclock I/Os provides one input and one output on BNC connectors.
- Start with eight, sixteen, or twenty-four channels, and later add additional groups of eight channels for up to thirty two total.
Add Modules:
- Additional modules including the LM-PRE4 4-channel preamp card and the LM-A24 monitoring card, provide further functionality.
