    Logan Electric A-7A reviews

4 x 5" Slim Edge Light Pad is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Need Even Backlight-Use this I bought this to illuminate some old 35mm Kodachrome and Ektachrome slides I had taken many years ago and wanted to copy to a digital file. I have a small consumer grade 35mm scanner that produces quick results that are not of really good quality. I used my Olympus OM-D, E-M5 body with and old Asahi Pentax bellows unit attached via an adapter (B&H has these). The lens I used was my old 80mm Schneider Componon. (Alternatively, a good macro lens would also work, but I already had my equipment) The setup worked quite well and produced very nice results. The Logan light box was a critical component of this setup since it provided the even backlight required to do this. It is very convenient because it operates both on batteries (for a few slides) or AC (for a big project). The attached photos are quickly made copies, the slides were not cleaned prior to coping and no dust spot removal was done later in photohop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Light pad I bought this light pad for copying old polaroid 665 negatives. The light is even from edge to edge and I tape my negs down to it and photograph each one using a copy stand. It has been a perfect and economic way to catalog my old 6x7 slides/negs and the 665 negs. As well it is compact, and can use AA batteries or power cord. Thank again B&H for providing solutions for my photography business. Regards, David Hebble

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good light source for film copying I chose this product as a light source for copying film negatives with a digital camera. It works very well, with even illumination and convenient size. There are similar products that are slightly less expensive, but this one included an AC power adapter and a storage case, which are nice extras. My only complaints about it: the power switch is small and a bit difficult to slide, and I wish it had rubber feet (am going to add some peel-and-stick ones.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic light box. This is perfect for my needs. I'm using it to view medium format negatives and it does great. Simple, no frills...Just plug it in, turn it on... good to go. Ive also been using it to digitally photograph my negatives using a copy stand. Does a great job here too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice. Not big THis is a good product. Be mindful though as you'll throw 2 slides no more on there, and it's not the brightest. There's an external power supply with the annoying transformer (the 200th in the house...). Granted it's not exactly cheap you might consider a larger one for maybe not much more money if you're serious about film. I find the product nice but limiting to compare slides. It's rather fit to look at them one by one essentially, so for small batches as I do. Other than that it does the job nicely and I found it produced no color cast and let me see my colors properly on slide film.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent, Portable, Durable Very well made, compact lightbox. Being ultra thin makes popping it into the front pocket of my camera bag or desk drawer very easy. Colour is perfect, as is brightness. I have been very impressed as to how long the batteries last, too. Being from NZ I had to get a new power adapter, but that proved very easy as well. Highly recommended

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright and handy I got this to sort slides for scanning and to compare the original slides to the digital scans. It has true color balance and worked well. Use the power adapter for desktop use. It doesn't go long on just batteries.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice slide copy light I use this on my old Beseler slide copier that no longer has a working tungsten lamp. It has good color and even illumination, and just fits under the slide carriage. It is just bright enough, but if it were even brighter it would work better on darker slides.
