The PT639D features two decks: Deck A is for playback only and Deck B for playback and record. You can play both sides continuously in Deck A. Two volume knobs enable you to set the left and the right recording levels independently. Digital noise reduction is onboard to help reduce tape hiss, providing crisper playback and clearer recordings.

The PT639D cassette deck lets you choose from a variety of tape options, including normal, CrO2, and metal tapes, for both playing and recording on the A&B Decks.
