I'm a big fan of Gitzo and ArcaSwiss gear. They are well made, well designed, last a long time, and consequently are expensive items. This is my fourth piece of Leofoto equipment and I keep coming back because it's also well made, thoughtfully engineered, and yet it's considerably less expensive. Not only is this carbon fiber gimbal beautiful looking and lightweight, but it performs flawlessly. I'm very impressed. The swing movement is dampened more than other brands. Some people have complained that it feels stiff. That might be true when there's not a load on the head, but once you mount a big lens and camera, the resistance is perfect. It feels fluid and solid, not loose and freewheeling. I like that level of control, especially when you have $10,000-20,000 sitting on top of your tripod (or other mount) and you don't want things flopping around too easily. The carbon fiber lay-up process is top notch and the matte texture on the knobs is gorgeous. Excellent aesthetics (hey, we're visual people, right?) and the quality of fit and finish is top tier. Feels like I'm driving a Porsche even though I know I paid a VW price. Very pleased with this head and their tripods and I have no problem recommending Leofoto to any photographer, professional or otherwise.
