The OM SYSTEM EE-1 Dot Sight is a shoe-mount dot sight ideal for super-telephoto photography of wild birds. The sight offers a center aiming dot with adjustable brightness and position to enable fast subject acquisition and tracking. You'll be able to tell whether your aim is right on target or slightly off without looking through the camera's viewfinder or using the monitor. Long Lens Heaven
If You Shoot Hand-held With A Long Lens This Will Definitely Improve Your BIF Hit Rate (which Is Probably Pretty Poor). I Bought This Years Ago And Never Put It To Use Until I Got The Olympus 300/4 With A 1 .4x. Trying To Find A Flying Bird Going By At 30 Or 40 Mph Is Beyond My Skillset, And It Only Got Worse With The OM 150-600. Calibrate It At A Distance Intermediate Between Your Expected Longest And Shortest Distances And If You're Careful With The Dials It Will Hold Calibration Until You Take It Off The Hot Shoe. There Will Be Some Parallax Closer In So Aim A Bit Above The Duck If It's Near. It Takes Very Little Practice To Get Good With This. I've Been Getting Shots I Would Never Get Without It And It Stays On The Camera Even In The Backpack. The Button Battery Is Easily Changed Without Tools , As I Had To Do Recently After A Few Years Of Use, So That's Not An Issue. The Price Is Worth It Although Tariffs Are Pushing It Up There. Still, You Paid An Eyetooth For Your Lens So What's A Touch More?
Limited ability to adjust
Adjusts fine with my Nikon Z and 100-400mm lens throughout the zoom range. Haven't tried it in the field yet, but I think it will help with birds in flight.
