Cambo ACTUS-G View Camera Body (Black)

Offering extensive perspective and focus control along with the convenience of working with your digital camera, the black ACTUS-G View Camera Body from Cambo effectively transforms your digital camera or back into a digital view camera. As the core component within a modular system, this view camera body serves as the primary piece from which you can pair a digital camera body with a variety of lenses to reap the benefits of geared camera movements for correcting perspective distortions, achieving an extended depth of field, or producing creative selective focus effects. While resembling traditional large format view cameras in function, the ACTUS system also echoes the compact form factor of the digital cameras it is designed to be paired with and is optimized for use in both the studio as well as on location.

This view camera body is delivered with a 6.1" monorail as well as a 4.9" bellows to permit working with a variety of lens and camera types. The monorail is designed to fit within the Arca-Swiss style quick release system for easy mounting to a tripod, and is also fitted with both 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 mounts for attaching quick release plates. Optional lensplates can be added depending on your desired lens type, and the monorail and bellows is also interchangeable with optional wide-angle and longer versions of each.

Camera Movements
A full system of movements offers extensive control over perspective and focusing settings. Geared on-axis tilt and swing movements are performed on the front standard and the rear standard permits geared rise/fall and horizontal shift movements:
  • Rear Rise/Fall: +0.5", -0.6" / +12mm, -15mm
  • Rear Shift: +/- 0.8" / 20mm
  • Front Swing: 360°
  • Front Tilt: +10°, -9°

The swing and tilt movements of the front standard rotate about the optical axis in order to avoid having to re-compose or re-focus after each movement is applied.
Camera Features
  • Requires additional AC-792 or AC-793 Bayonet Holder, for use with Fujifilm GFX or Hasselblad X1D camera systems; AC-78E Bayonet Holder and dedicated camera mount bayonet, for use with Canon EF, Canon EF-M, Nikon F, Leica M, Sony E, Pentax K, Micro Four Thirds, Olympus OM-D, or Fujifilm X camera systems; or ACDB-989 SLW Interface Adapter Plate Holder and ACDB-series bellows, for use with select digital backs.
  • Revised rear standard features geared horizontal shift and is compatible with removable bayonet holders.
  • Both fine geared and quick-slide focusing adjustment types are available.
  • Bellows and monorail focusing allows you to achieve closer focusing distances without the use of extension tubes or other macro attachments.
  • Zero-position clicks are incorporated into each movement type for more intuitive handling.
  • Monorail is compatible with the Arca-Swiss-style quick release system and also features both 3/8"-16 and 1/4"-20 mounts.
  • Front tilts and swings allow you to alter the plane of focus for employing selective focus techniques or Scheimpflug settings for extensive depth of field. Additionally, these tilt and swing movements are used to correct for convergence and other perspective distortions.
  • Rear horizontal and vertical shifts allow you to move the camera position while retaining the same lens position, making this configuration especially ideal for stitching multiple exposures without having to adjust the lens.
  • This black finish body is anodized for greater durability and scratch resistance.
  • Compact overall form factor is relative to the size of DSLR and mirrorless cameras.
ACTUS System
As the central component within the modular ACTUS system, this view camera body serves as the means to which you can attach a variety of optional lens plates and camera bayonet mounts. Additionally, besides the standard included bellows and monorail, a variety of optional bellows and monorails are available for wide-angle and close-focusing/macro shooting applications.
Cambo AC-792 Bayonet Holder for FUJIFILM G

Dedicated to Cambo ACTUS-G view cameras, this AC-792 Bayonet Holder allows you to attach a FUJIFILM G-mount camera to the rear standard of the view camera body. The bayonet can rotate 90° within the holder to facilitate switching between horizontal and vertical shooting orientations and it features a black anodized finish to prevent scratching. This bayonet holder is available here as a spare or replacement part for the one originally included with the ACTUS-GFX view camera, and can also be used with other ACTUS-G-series cameras to enable working with FUJIFILM GFX cameras.

Cambo Actus-G Reviews

Can't go wrong...

Absolutely love this piece of Cambo equipment... They've gone through this design from top to bottom and have created a platform that is essentially a genius solution to having the ultimate digital view camera for those of us who require such a technical approach to creating images. The build quality and precision are top notch - everything feels very well machined and well assembled. The multiple lens plates for lens manufactures such as Mamiya, Pentax, Hasselblad, Leica and their very own Actar series of lenses allows you to have many options when it comes to lenses. At first, this system can be confusing with what lenses will work with what body or digital back, but once you get familiar with their lens chart, it starts to make sense as to what can be used. The lens chart, listed below, gives all the data necessary to make informed decisions. I will say, with Pentax 645 glass, the latest HD DFA lenses are made specifically for Pentax's digital medium format bodies, which require a much smaller image circle than Pentax's 645 film format. So the A and FA Pentax lenses are a better option if you require shifting/rise/fall movements. All in all, I would highly recommend this system. If you need rear standard movements, Cambo has even more in depth models known as the Actus MV and Actus XL, which in my mind seems better suited for studio and product photography. Personally, I use this system for interior design and architectural photography and I must say: it's working better than any T/S lens - and I own and use some phenomenal T/S lenses, i.e., the 19mm, 24mm, 45mm and 85mm PC-e lenses from Nikon; these are outstanding lenses, but the Cambo allows me more freedom of movement, so this is why I made the switch from a pair Nikon D-850 bodies and said T/S lenses. Freedom!!!!! (of movement). Lens chart: https://www.cambousa.com/actus-lens-compatibility-chart

What’s the difference between the Actus G system ...

What’s the difference between the Actus G system and the Actus MV for use with a Fuji GFX 100 II?
Asked by: Andrew
The Cambo ACTUS-G View Camera Body with AC-792 Bayonet Holder for FUJIFILM G is very good. The difference between that and the Cambo ACTUS-MV View Camera Body with AC-214 Bellows and ACMV-862 Mount Kit, B&H #CAACMVF50K, is that the MV has almost double the movement capability in any direction.
