Active Component Link
Part of the OptiTrack motion capture system, the BaseStation component connects Active Tags and Pucks to your Motive system. Use the BaseStation to enable the Motive software to perceive active components, even when the active markers, unlike passive markers, are blocked.
Up to 100' Range
At least one BaseStation is required per tracking system when using Active Tags or Pucks, and for larger volumes, the approximate range from BaseStation to Tags/Pucks is 100'.
Load Capacity
- The number of IMUs that can be attached to a BaseStation is determined by the system frame rate and the divisor applied to the BaseStation. See the OptiTrack website for a table that shows the IMU maximum for common frame rates with a divisor rate of 1, 2, and, in some cases, 3.
- You can also use PuTTY or Tera Term to determine the maximum number of IMUs for a frame rate and divisor combination.
Indicator LEDs
- The communication LED blinks green when successfully communicating with Active Pucks and blinks red if it fails to establish a connection.
- The interference LED should stay dark but flashes red to indicate signal traffic on the radio channel and PAN ID that might be interfering with the active components.
- The power LED lights up red to indicate power, but note that it may be disabled with the latest firmware.
BaseStations in Motive
When connected to an OptiTrack system, the properties for any BaseStation with firmware 2.x or later and all associated active devices are shown in the Devices Pane. Please see the Devices Pane page on the OptiTrack site for more details.
