The DarkStar 9 surface is a composite, multilayer material designed to reject ambient light away from the viewer’s field of vision. By reflecting only direct light from the projector and rejecting ambient light from above and below, this material eliminates the washout effect normally experienced when viewing with the lights on. It also helps enhance contrast to achieve ISF-certified accuracy under cinematic lighting conditions.
The SE156C-DS assembles easily on a 2.3" aluminum frame which is hand-wrapped in black velveteen to prevent projector overshoot. The DarkStar 9 material attaches to the frame using a spring and grommet construction that ensures perfect uniform flatness. All hardware is included, and the lightweight split-frame design makes for easy shipping and delivery to install sites. Additionally, a sliding wall mount is included to ensure proper alignment with your projector.
