Godox V1Pro Reviews
GODOX V1 PRO S INTERMITTENT OPERATION WITH SONY MIRROLESS
I recently purchased the Godox V1 PRO S for a Sony a6700 camera. I did a search on the InterWeb for 'the best flash for Sony a6700' and this is the flash that was recommended. Sadly, I don't believe this is the case. When I received the flash, I of course tested it for function. After charging the battery, I placed the flash on the hot shoe of the a6700, and powered everything up. I then took a few images. After about 4-5 images, the flash stopped flashing. I powered everything down, re-booted both units, and the flash would not operate. I searched on the InterWeb for issues, and lo and behold, this is a 'known' issue with Sony Mirrorless cameras. After verifying the flash had the latest firmware (Ver. 1.2) , and discounting any overheating, and cleaning the contacts, it was recommended I changie the Shutter setting from 'Silent/electronic' to the 'Mechanical Shutter' as a fix to this issue. That seemed to work, but after a few more shots, the issue returned. I called B&H and was referred to a 'Product Specialist'. After ~30 minutes on the phone the problem continued to occur. Normally, I would return the flash for a replacement. However, with this being a 'known' problem with Sony Mirrorless cameras, I will be returning the Godox V1 PRO S for a complete refund. I can't believe all of the 'glowing reviews' on the InterWeb with this being a 'known' problem! Very disappointed.

I’m extremely disappointed with both this flash and the way B&H handled the situation. I purchased this Godox flash from B&H less than two months ago, and it has already become completely unreliable. During professional shoots, it randomly disconnects and shuts off, leaving me without a working flash in the middle of important moments. As a professional photographer, I simply cannot rely on equipment that may stop working at any time. I understand that B&H has a 30-day return policy. However, this is not a case of simply changing my mind about a product — the flash is defective after less than two months of use. I contacted B&H, explained the situation, and offered to send the defective flash back. I was not asking to keep the product and receive a refund. I also explained that I do not want a replacement. This is not the first Godox flash that has caused problems for me, and after being let down by this equipment during paid shoots, I no longer trust the brand enough to use it professionally. I have already ordered a completely different flash directly from B&H. Considering the circumstances, I expected B&H to make some kind of exception and allow me to return the defective product for a refund, especially since I am continuing to purchase my equipment from them. Unfortunately, they refused. Very disappointing customer service experience. When professional equipment fails this soon after purchase, I believe there should be more consideration than simply referring a customer to the 30-day return window.
