It would not be recommended to use more than four transmitters in close proximity, although your mileage will vary based on the environment and local usage of the 2.4 GHz band.

If you are using the Shure MoveMic Two Receiver Kit 2-Person Clip-On Wireless Microphone System for Mobile Devices and Cameras to output and record to a camera with a 3.5mm audio input, you won't need to use the Shure MOTIV app. You'd only need this app if you were connecting the transmitters to a smartphone via Bluetooth.
