Kensington SD4790P Overview

Ideal for professionals seeking a single docking solution that can support up to four external Ultra HD monitors, while also catering to mixed technology environments, the USB-C and USB-A Quad 4K Hybrid Dock from Kensington supports USB-C and USB-A devices on Windows 10 and later, macOS 11 and later, and ChromeOS 114 and later. It connects to your host system using a USB-C port that provides up to 100W of power. Connectivity options include two 10 Gb/s USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports (one 5V/1.5A and one 5V/0.9A), four 5 Gb/s USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports (5V/0.9A), a Gigabit Ethernet port, and a 3.5mm audio combo jack.

Also available are three HDMI 2.0 ports, two DisplayPort 1.2 ports, and one DisplayPort 1.4 port. Devices that support USB-C Alt Mode with DP 1.4++ can drive up to four 2160p displays at 60 Hz, or up to two 1080p displays at 240 Hz. Apple users with an M1/M2/M3 Pro or Max chip can connect up to three 2160p displays at 60 Hz and USB-C (DP 1.2++) or USB-A devices that don't support Video Alt mode support up to two 2160p displays.

While this dock supports the USB 3.2 Gen 2 standard, it may be used with Thunderbolt 3 and 4, although it will operate at 10 Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds. Included is a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 cable with a USB-A adapter and a screw lock, a 150W power supply, and a power cord.

Quad 4K Video via HDMI and DP++
Enhance visual productivity and experience the versatility of plug-and-play for dual displays via USB-C Alt mode or expand to four 4K/60 Hz via two DisplayLink connections. Six video ports allow you to select between HDMI 2.0, DP++ 1.4, and DP++ 1.2 without the need for cumbersome adapters. It also supports M1/M2/M3 MacBooks with triple displays and dual 1080p displays at 240 Hz.

Supports Thunderbolt 4, USB4, USB-C, and legacy USB-A laptops running Windows 10 or above, macOS 11 or above, Chrome OS 114 or above.
Up to 100W Power Delivery
Delivers power to laptops, docking stations, and connected accessories. Supports up to 100W for USB-C Alt Mode laptops and continues to charge connected accessories even when host laptop is not connected. An optional Power Splitter (K38310WW) is needed to supply power for USB-A laptops.
6 USB Ports, Gigabit Ethernet, and Combo Audio Jack
This dock delivers speeds up to 10 Gb/s via two USB-C ports and four USB-A ports. The front of the dock has the two USB-C 3.2 Gen2 ports (one 5V/1.5A and one 5V/0.9A) and the back four 5 Gb/s USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports (5V/0.9A). The back also has a 1 Gbps Ethernet port and combo audio jack.
Secure Screw Lock Connection
The host cable is equipped with secure screw lock connector for a consistent and reliable connection between the docking station and the laptop.
Zero-Footprint Mounting Option and Security Cable Lock Slots
Maximize your desktop space by mounting the docking station out of the way using a separately sold mounting bracket (K34050WW). Protect your investment with a Kensington cable lock (K65020WW or K65021WW), also sold separately.
