Tilta Zombie Rig Reviews
Genuine Gamechanger

I mostly do sound for documentaries, switching between interviews and run'n'gun. The Zombie Rig has been an absolute gamechanger for me: no matter how long a take is or where I'm chasing someone around, I can focus on getting good boom sound instead of planning ahead for when my arms will finally give out, or worrying that I'm gonna dip into shot while I double check that my levels are good on the mixer.
It's not perfect by any means—it can be a little awkward extending and retracting a boom pole or moving around in narrow spaces, and the screws that hold the baby pin thing to the bag are a little mushy so I need to replace one that completely stripped out—but if there's anything else like it on the market then I am unaware, so for innovation alone I gotta give it the full five stars. My back has never felt better after a 12 hour day than when I'm booming with this, and the fact that it's compatible with a regular old baby pin has saved me during interviews when the provided C-stand didn't come with the gobo head for my regular boom holder.
The fact that it's as cheap as it is makes it an easy sell, even if that low price comes with a little jank in some of the fit & finish. I'm gonna be using this thing until it falls apart.
