ZEISS Nano Prime 18mm T1.5 Cine Lens (Sony E, Feet)

Equip your Sony E mount cinema camera with a high-speed full-frame lens using this Nano Prime 18mm T1.5 Cine Lens from ZEISS. This wide-angle lens has an aperture range of T1.5 to T16 to achieve a wide depth of field. A 12-blade rounded iris provides a soft, natural bokeh. Why wouldn't they make a PL version?

Why wouldn't they make a PL version?
Asked by: Gabriel
The optical design of the Nano Primes has been designed for a flange focal distance (FFD) of 24 mm. This allowed ZEISS to make the Nano Primes compact while still providing a consistent aperture of T1.5. This means that all mounts with a flange focal distance shorter than 24 mm could be technically served by adding a spacer. However, mounts such as PL, LPL, EF and M have a longer flange focal distance (respectively 52 mm, 44 mm and 27 mm) and can thus not be adapted. Therefore, support for these mounts is not possible.

Have they fixed their aperture communication problem with Sony? Loxia lenses have issues with bodies newer than A7iii
Asked by: Mike
The Zeiss Nano Primes do not share components with Loxia, and are fully compatible with all Sony E-mount cameras. Zeiss has tested them extensively on everything from an A7IV to the Burano & Venice and they have discovered no compatibility issues.
