Good, Not Perfect, Would Still Recommend

We already had several Kasa devices in our home, so I was inclined to stick with the brand. If you're already using Kasa devices, this is certainly worth adding. Overall, I'm happy with the functionality and features. Pros: * Most importantly: works as expected. Changing the fan speed without getting out of bed is key to living the American Dream and we are truly blessed to live in these modern times. * It actually has 4 speeds, not 3 speeds + off. I'm only used to having high/med/low. The lowest speed is very gentle and perfect at night. * Fade on/fade off option for the lights is kinda nice. * Installation was clear and if you've wired other switches before, you can probably handle this one. * Wires are well labeled, so you don't have to find the color code (but you should always read the instructions on these things). * The indicator LED brightness is configurable or can be disabled entirely, which is important to consider when it is installed only a few feet from your pillow. * Once I powered it up, adding it to my household went smoothly. Cons: * It's kind of big and the permanently-wired pigtails stick straight out the back. It's a tight squeeze with all the wires and connections. I did fit it it into a single-gang wall box, but it was a tight squeeze. * I'm used to the paddle style (decora) switches, and blindly slapping this thing rarely triggers the desired effect. I'm sure I'll get used to it. * There is an audible click from the fan relay(s) whenever you change the fan speed. If you've got other Kasa devices, you're probably familiar with it. It's not bad, but something to consider if this is going in a bedroom with a light sleeper. (The Kasa HS220 dimmer doesn't make this click and neither does the light half of the KS240). And one meh: * It has a Sleep Mode, which /sounds/ like a neat idea (steps down the fan speed every ## minutes until it reaches the slowest speed), but hasn't really been useful. First of all, if you're on the edge of sleep when it clicks down a speed, that click is going to snap you right back to asking yourself why you can't fall asleep. Second, if it's warm enough that I need the fan on high to fall asleep, I'm probably going to wake up hot and uncomfortable in the middle of the night to put it back on high. But I won't ding it for a feature that I can just choose not use.
