The Smartphone Grip from Platypod provides a secure, adjustable hold on most smartphones up to 4.1" wide, including standard and max models. Constructed from steel and aluminum, this pro grip features a spring-loaded clamp that detaches to reveal a 1/4"-20 stud ball head that supports up to 5 lb. The Platypod Smartphone Grip provides standard 360° swivel and 90° tilt adjustment and incorporates an Arca-type bottom plate, one 3/8"-16 tripod thread, and two 1/4"-20 threads.

Can this Platypod be attached to a regular tripod like a regular ball head?
The Platypod Smartphone Grip has 1/4" and 3/8" tripod threads. It also has an Arca Swiss foot that will attach to a Arca Swiss clamp.
