The LA-FE2 Nikon F Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Adapter from Monster Adapter allows select Nikon lenses to be used on Sony E-Mount camera bodies while retaining electronic communication and autofocus function. It maintains communication and power supply through its electronic contacts to provide autofocus and aperture setting control from the camera body, and it is compatible with lenses that have built-in motors.

Does it work for the Sony A7RVI?

You can pretty much get a description on how this adapter works by the product description and from other reviewers. I have a variety of lenses listed in the adapter description as being compatible (AF-S, AF-D, AF, AF-G, etc.) as I am slowly moving over to Sony. I have the Sony A7RVI, which was at the time of purchase, was not yet listed as a compatible camera. I took a chance that it would work, and it did. I see now that the A7RVI is still not listed on the main B&H advertisement description, but when I click on the "Compatible With" list, it does now list the A7RVI. It might be a tad slower on the shutter speed...maybe, maybe not...Could just be my imagination. But everything works very well and very fast with my native Nikon lenses just as it all worked as if it were a Nikon camera to Nikon lens. I am new to my Sony A7RVI, so if something "does not work" on a particular Nikon lens, then I am unaware thus far. I am very happy with it. I will use it until I can replace the Nikon lenses that I use the most. Yeah, we know "Most expensive hobby". VERY IMPORTANT STEPS: #1 Make sure your camera battery is fully charged BEFORE you first use this product!! Out of the box, this product will NOT WORK if your camera battery is 20% or 30%, etc. Charge that battery! #2 Update the Monster!! Update, update, update!!

I recently purchased the Monster Adapter LA-FE2 Nikon F Lens to Sony E-Mount Camera Lens Adapter, hoping it would allow me to use my collection of Nikon F Mount lenses on my SonyA7R V camera. Unfortunately, my experience with this adapter has been bad. While the adapter successfully maintained electronic communication and autofocus with some of my lenses, it did not work with many others. Specifically, I encountered issues with lenses that have their own built-in motors. Despite the adapter's electronic contacts providing communication and power supply, I could hear the screw motor turning with these lenses, but no actual focusing took place. This inconsistency was disappointing, as approximately half of my lenses functioned correctly while the other half did not. I appreciate the effort put into creating a product that bridges the gap between Nikon F lenses and Sony E-mount cameras, but the performance fell short of my expectations. The concept is fantastic and much needed in the market, but the execution did not meet the advertised claims in my experience. In summary, while the Monster Adapter LA-FE2 has potential, it did not provide the integration I was hoping for with all my lenses. I truly wish it worked as promised, but sadly, it did not deliver consistent results for me.

Will autofocus and aperture control work on the FX3 and FX6?

The Monster Adapter LA-FE2 Nikon F Lens to Sony E- Mount Camera Lens Adapter is designed to provide autofocus and aperture control to Nikon F mount AF-D lenses. When using older Nikon F mount lenses like AI and AI-S, there will not be autofocus or aperture control because they have mechanical apertures and no electronic contacts to communicate with the adapter.
