Canon ST-E3-RT V3 Reviews

I am not sure how three people gave bad reviews about having link problems. I have used this and the former model and the new R model and have never had a problem. I use the flashes in nature photography often in tough environments; sometimes with up to six flashes though normally with 2 or 3. They perform with great precision and never had a problem of any type. As a professional photographer I rely on this system and can highly recommend it for all flash uses.

Why are they selling this garbage? Never holds a connection, if you're lucky enough to get one at all.

Does V3 reduce the amount of dropped links to flash units? This is a significant issue with V1 and V2 transmitters.
Asked by: Michael
The dropped link problem had NOT been solved. I picked up this new unit hoping that after 6 years Canon might have developed some shielding. I also picked up their new 430EX III flash to test. The transmitter links up to the new flash as well as my older Canon 600 EX II RT. After several minutes the link drops. This is the same behavior everyone has noticed for year. Turning off all the units and re-starting will re-link them for several minutes. The time until they drop is always different. Yes, this is an environment with Wi -Fi. I suppose this might work for some fill flash in the mountains but is not going to work in any studio or urban environment. I don't recommend buying this transmitter - it simply will not work.
