When I was looking for a better way to transport my large Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope from my house to the driveway, or to the van; or from the van to an observing site (that beast is heavy!), I came across the MI-953 Tri-Wheel Stair Climber Hand Truck. This solved my need completely, and even solved some problems I hadn't known I had. It is lightweight and folds flat and low with little effort. I place my telescope's 55-lb. fork arm mount and OTA onto the caster-equipped platform, secure it with the included bungee cord, and then tilt it back and let the triple wheel sets do all the work for me. It rolls smoothly and almost effortlessly. When not in use, it just about disappears, which would actually be too bad, because this thing looks cool too! I like this product and am looking forward to relying on it often.
i really wanted to like it, but it's too short, and therefore the jarring motion going up stairs broke my light kit. if you're under 5' 4 you might like it. on a positive note, my new lights are better. :)
