FLM 32G Centerball Reviews
Doesn’t hold anywhere near the stated max load
This head dissapointed me. The build quality is good. The problem is this can’t hold anywhere near the stated max load. Max load is stated as 12kg. I’ve used this with a Fuji X-T5 with XF 70-300mm lens. Including the l-bracket on the camera, it’s about 1.2kg. A tenth of the max load. And it can’t hold it. I’ve tightened the ball head as much as my strength will allow and the camera/lens still drifts down.
Perfect for lightweight cameras
This head mates perfectly with my OM-1 on a Peak Design tripod. The integrated head on the Peak Design was too restrictive in it's movement, especially for pointing down for macros. This head solves that issue with a trivial increase in weight and length. The only trivial critique is that to create the compact design the knobs for the ball and pan are on opposite sides. Not perfect but workable in light of the benefits. I have shot long exposures at 300mm repeatedly with not noticeable drift. Highly recommended.
