ASUS NUC 14 Pro Tall Overview

With its compact size, the ASUS NUC 14 Pro Tall Barebone Kit can fit into a variety of spaces and be customized to help you stay productive. Inside the toolless chassis is a 1.4 GHz Intel Core Ultra 7 155H 16-Core processor with integrated graphics to get you started.

The two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots support up to 96GB of memory. For storage, you have an M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 slot alongside an M.2 PCIe 3.0 2242 slot and a 2.5" drive bay. This system also includes built-in Wi-Fi 6E support and a 2.5G Ethernet port for high-speed internet access. Dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, along with a front-facing USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 and dual USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, allow you to quickly transfer large videos, photos, and other files. This kit is Windows 11 OS ready. A US power cable is included.

Performance
The Intel Ultra Core 7 155H processor powers applications with six Performance cores while eight Efficient cores and two Low Power Efficient cores handle background tasks. The Performance cores have a base speed of 1.4 GHz and can be boosted up to 4.8 GHz. A built-in Neural Processor (NPU) accelerates AI workloads.
Expansion
There are two dual-channel DDR5-5600 SO-DIMM slots available, supporting up to 96GB. There is also an M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot and an M.2 2242 PCIe 3.0 x4 slot alongside a 2.5" drive bay.
High-Speed USB
A front-facing USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 port allows you to transfer up to 20 Gb/s with compatible devices. The front panel also includes two 10 Gb/s USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports. The rear panel includes two Thunderbolt 4 slots, a USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port, and one USB-A 2.0 port.
Thunderbolt 4
Thunderbolt 4 is a hardware interface that utilizes the reversible USB-C connector and features a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices. The connector also transmits data via USB4 at up to 20 Gb/s, and dual-bandwidth DisplayPort allows you to connect either one 8K monitor or up to two 4K displays simultaneously. Additionally, you can daisy chain up to six devices from a single Thunderbolt 4 port.
Network Connectivity
Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) support provides access to the less congested 6 GHz band with compatible wireless networks. The 2.5G Ethernet port provides a fast and reliable wired internet connections.

We've been buying Intel NUCs for years and are familiar with the benefits and limitations. ASUS purchased that product line and made some nice cooling and other mechanical enhancements. Much easier to access the box for memory or disk upgrades.

The ASUS NUC 14 Pro Tall Barebone Kit does not have a dedicated GPU, and would definitely not be recommended for 4K or 8K video editing.
