Works as expected; I can run my Q3 43 indefinitely. It runs nicely on my Apple laptop charger, but weirdly, it wont work with my wife’s Dell charger. Might be a wattage thing or a brand thing— I know Leica is Apple certified. The battery itself feels hollow; I expected the same heft as a real battery, but it makes sense, it’s just a plastic shell and a wire… As with all Leica products, it’s twice what it should be, but I love the Q3 43 and no one else makes this, so I’m willing to pay. 5 stars because it does what it say, but let’s be honest, this is very overpriced for being a piece of plastic around a $5 usb cable.

There is a place to plug in the usbc female lead back into the battery when not in use. It clicks in with a satisfying, solid lock and forms a loop with the battery cable. However, when pulling the female end back out, there isn't much to hold onto, except for the cable itself. When storing, I would NOT click the cable all the way in, since over time, I could see this straining the cable leads. Also, you'll need 27 watts from your power source.

Why not charge battery/power the camera directly into the USB-C port on the camera? What am I missing here?
The Leica SL3 Mirrorless Camera cannot be powered from the USB-C port. You need the Leica DC-SCL6 USB-C DC-Coupler to power the camera with a USB battery pack or AC power with an adapter.

Are the SL2 batteries compatible with the SL3???
Yes and no. Though they are identical in size and fit exactly the same way, the SL2 battery (BP-SCL4) which is 1860mAh is not as powerful as the newer 2200mAh SL3 and Q3 batteries (BP-SCL6, cat# 19531) so some of the features of the SL3 will not work like 8k video/burst mode etc. You will also get a warning on the LCD screen stating as such when these batteries are installed in the camera. But the SL3/Q3 batteries are completely backwards compatible to the SL2/SL/Q2 etc.
