Does not work with iPhone 15

The main reason I got this was to download photos to my iPhone 15 Pro Max which has USB-C. (The Leica M-11P camera comes with a cable for lightning, which only works with older iPhones.) I even bought two of these cables so I could have one on my laptop and another in my camera bag. Unfortunately, the iPhone does not see the camera with these cables. When I use the white cable that came with my Macbook for power, it works fine (though painfully slow. Way slower than wi-fi!). It seems it is not the correct thunderbolt version for iPhone. Basically now I have two great looking, overpriced charging cables for my phone.
